Arriving to Saint Olaf in Poulsbo includes a transition.

We depart from the hustle and bustle of life as we drive from the main road through a winding, tree-lined meadow into the center of the campus.

Our eighteen acres of land form a natural preserve in the midst of the city, and foster a retreat-like atmosphere for all of our ministries.

Coming through the front doors of the church, our eyes are led to the large statue of Jesus with his arms extended toward us in welcome. We remember the scripture passage where he says, “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest”.

As a bi-lingual parish family, both English and Spanish speakers find a faith home here. This mutual enrichment leads us all into a bigger world filled with music, social life, and spiritual devotion. A fun practice at our weekend liturgies is to compare scriptural translations, to help us find our way into the meaning of the original languages.

We approach our sacramental preparation and faith formation ministries from the perspective of the whole family. Parents and children often attend classes together.  In this way we all learn and grow, and share in the work of handing on our faith to the next generation.

The Saint Olaf church building accommodates about 350 people, with ample seating in the north wing for those wishing to maintain social distancing. Three surrounding buildings are where we offer classes, retreats, charitable outreach, and parish administration. We remain sensitive to the ongoing effects of the pandemic in the design of all aspects of our parish life.

The tone of all our liturgies and ministries is joyful and friendly, with our focus centered on deepening our experience of the loving heart of God.
